The Stamper Battery
Educational and insightful, Ashleys stamper battery tours showcase a 100 year old water powered wheel which powers the stamper battery - used in the Gold Mining days back in the 1900's. Fully functional, you will see Ashley start the battery up and marvel as you watch it begin to work! Pan for gold in the river and walk inside to see the geological display.

Famous throughout the region Stuart lives 3kms along the 309 Road. His place is home to over 100 wild pigs, peacocks and an assortment of other animals. In the 1930's there was a quarry and also a school house on his land. Take some food with you and feed the pigs . . . and don't forget your camera!

White Star Horse Treks
Colville Farm Holidays/White Star Station is on a 1,260 hectare sheep and cattle farm, 30 minutes drive north of Coromandel Town. With horse treks to suit any level of experience, it is a great way to enjoy the beautiful landscape and surrounds of the Northern Coromandel. Treks from 1hr , 1.5, 2, 3 and 5 hour treks. Walk, trot or canter along the grassy flats and up the hills. View the streams meandering through the valley with Mount Moehau in the distance. Ride amongst the grazing sheep and cattle. Ride through small areas of bush with many native and introduced birds. For more experienced riders, there are longer treks to a beach on the west coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. On the way you will get spectacular views of the Hauraki Gulf islands.
