“Even More True Tales of Northern Coromandel”

Short Stories Competition 2010

Coromandel Town History Research Groups Inc’s aim is to collect and preserve stories about events or persons that make up the very early to recent history of the area outlined below. Suitable stories will be published in book form and offered for sale.

Conditions of Entry

1. Stories, poems or recollections are to be based on true events and actual people from Manaia to Cape Colville including Fletchers Bay down to Kennedy Bay and Whangapoua.

2. Drawings, photographs, including clear digital images, or photocopies to illustrate your entry will be appreciated for possible use in the publication and must be free from copy right restrictions. Suitable captions must be included. Submissions will only be returned if a stamped, self addressed envelope is provided.

3. Entries to be typed on one side of a page and double spaced. The author’s name to appear above the title. Maximum 1500 words.

4. The number of entries per person is unlimited. Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form.

5. The competition is open to amateur writers only and students (including home school). The story must not have been published previously.

6. The Coromandel Town History Research Group Inc. reserves the right to select the stories and edit for publishing reasons.

7. All entries are anonymous to the judges. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

8. Entries must be received by 31 May 2010.

10. All entries printed become the property of the CTHRG Inc.

The published book “Even More True Tales of Northern Coromandel” will be launched in Coromandel on Labour Weekend 2010 and available for purchase at that time from the CTHRG Inc. then afterwards also from selected book shops, I-sites and other outlets.
